It was about 12 months ago when my mom had first fallen. She is 78 years old and has been needing a lot of extra attention lately. My dad, 75, can’t seem to ever keep a charge on his phone - which we always laughed about until my mom had fallen. If it weren’t for this new device my parents would need to be on 24/7 watch.

It was 12 months ago and my parents were getting ready to go to church like any normal Sunday. My parents are always the first people to church because they like to greet and socialize with the community. When my husband and I got to church before them I was a little bit concerned. I called my dad and of course his phone went right to voicemail like normal.

Church started and my parents weren’t there yet. Now I definitely knew something was really wrong. My parents live in the country where their nearest neighbor is a good couple minutes drive away, so my husband and I left to go see what was going on.  I kept calling and calling but I couldn’t get through. Both of their phones were dead and I had the worst anxiety on the 30 minute drive to their house.

When we arrived my dad was holding my mom. He had just plugged in his phone minutes before and dialed 911. To make a long story short, my mom was okay and just had to spend the night in the hospital. It was my job to find a solution to making sure they were always connected just incase of an emergency. I knew that if this ever happened again it could end up way worse.

I looked into a handful of battery packs. The problem was that they were all really bulky and way overpriced. I could never see my mom carrying one in her purse or my dad in his pocket - it just wouldn’t fit.

Some of my friends suggested that I buy my parents a PowerPod.  At first I thought, “Oh, another bulky battery pack…this won’t work.” Funny enough, that week I actually got an ad for the PowerPod. I decided to look into it and read a bunch of reviews. People were literally raving about this thing!

I ended up buying a few PowerPods for 30% OFF, and it arrived in a couple of days.

Fast forward to today, and my parents have never lost a charge yet! It is extremely easy for them to use and recharge for daily use. I can sleep peacefully knowing that my parents are a phone call away if they ever needed anything. Everywhere I go people are shocked that such a small device provides such a powerful

UPDATE: I actually bought several more for each of my kids and they are always charged up!
